How we assess applications

Priorities

All applications must meet our objects and policies; those that don’t will be rejected.

As we expect applications each month to exceed the limited funds we will have available, we will prioritise as follows:

  • available funds and the size of the grant (prefer to make many small grants rather than one large one)
  • cases of urgent need
  • the benefit to be gained
  • date grant is needed (we assess applications every month and will not commit funds for grants in the future)
  • living in the Salisbury area.

What we will not support

We will not make grants for:

  • the provision of school uniform
  • anything where there are statutory sources of funding (i.e. local authority or government funds).

What sort of things will we support?

Apart from above, we have no restrictions on the things we may make grants for; we expect to offer support for a wide range, including:

  • transport costs (e.g. bus , taxi, rail fares)
  • fees for training courses or skills workshops (e.g. writing CVs)
  • tools of the trade or books for college
  • help with accommodation (e.g. support for deposits)
  • costs of activities run by young people for the benefit of others.

In future we will be publishing the number of awards we make and will list those on this web site in the coming months.
